Jerry Lawler & Al Snow (w/Head) v. Chris Candido & D'Lo Brown (w/Tammy Sytch) - North East Wrestling: Renegade's Rampage (10.2.04)

Mick Foley is your special guest referee. Fun stuff, as you might imagine with all of these guys in one match. I would have loved to see this live. Guess it just goes to show that when the workers are having a ton of fun, it'll certainly show through in the match. It also makes me miss Candido, who was just so great at what he did. People are quick to pigeonhole guys as either being "serious" wrestlers or a "comedy" act, as if the two can never meet. Candido straddled that line as well as anyone ever has. (9:59)

AJ Styles v. Matt Hardy (IWC: No Excuses - 7.29.05)

This is the first time these two wrestled during Matt's, err...summer vacation. Or when he went flat out insane, I guess. He could have had an interesting run through the indies, but I can't blame him for going back to WWE. Who doesn't want to cash in while they still can? Anyway, this is decent. Not a great match by any means, but it does make me wonder how awesome their matches would be if they worked together regularly. (28:30)

Super Dragon & Excalibur v. Kevin Steen & El Generico (CZW: Cage of Death VI - 12.11.04)

One of my favorite matches from 2004. Super Dragon is the biggest asshole in wrestling history and you can't help but to cringe at the beating that poor Generico takes for whatever Dragon perceives his sins to be. I don't like Steen at all, but even he brings his A-game to this one. (31:12)

Toshiaki Kawada v. Cactus Jack (HUSTLE-3 - 5.8.04)

Kawada defends the Triple Crown against...Mick Foley? That's different. Oh well, Kawada likes to kick people to death and Foley enjoys taking ungodly amounts of punishment. You do the math. (24:03)

The flurry of Heart Punch activity continues, as I bust out a Video Vault post, just so I can say that we had new content every day for a week. Because that's certainly worthy of merit, right? RIGHT? Chris Hero & Team F.I.S.T. (Icarus & Akuma) v. Mike Quackenbush & ShaneSaw (Shane Storm & Jigsaw) (CHIKARA - Return of the Son of the International Invasion of the International Invaders: 1st Stage - 8.19.06) Spreadin' the CHIKARA love! Seriously...if you can watch CHIKARA and not *love* CHIKARA, you might be dead inside. I'm about to dive into the King of Trios shows tonight, so huzzah to me. And, uh...this match is heaping helpings of awesome. Just watch it. Necro Butcher v. Roderick Strong (IWA:MS - Hurt - 3.24.06) Not as fun as most of the Necro "dream matches" that have happened over the past year. Two recaps in two days? Perish the thought! What are the odds that I can make it through all six shows without skipping a day? That would be nutty. -Tonight, The Filth and the Fury faces Team Dragon Gate. 6-Pac answers Human Tornado's challenge. Arik Cannon debuts versus the also debuting Delikado and Ricky Banderas SPEAKS! -Opening montage. - Jibbs performs. -Clips of the fireball angle from the last show. This leads into the Banderas promo (w/subtitles, even though he speaks decently clean English). Apparently, Vampiro is the cause of his facial scarring after he rigged Banderas' coffin to explode. What is it with Vamp and exploding coffins? He promises Vamp that his days are numbered. Team Dragon Gate v. The Filth and the Fury - Teddy Hart and Yoshino open with a quick armdrag sequence. MTV's Wrestling Society X - Pilot Episode (1.26.07)

So, the great MTV wrestling experiment has finally arrived on my television. What I expect going in: Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. At best, it'll be stupid spotty fun that feels like it flies by in seconds. At worst, it'll be stupid spotty fun that's so stupid that it'll wrap back around to awesomeness. Seriously, I think this show is an absolute no loss formula. Great roster of young guys, a few vets that can still go and fuck…it's New Jack . NEW JACK! On MTV. In 2007. That's quality right there. -We get some goofiness right off the bat, as MTV doesn't seem to know which show it wants to play. We get a minute or so from the preview of this coming season of Two-a-Days, then switch to your regularly scheduled Wrestling Society X programming. Weird. Tonight, Matt Sydal squares off with Jack Evans and there will be a ten man WSX Rumble to determine the two men who'll go for the WSX title next week.
