Video Vault - Mike Awesome Remembered
Instead of being bummed out over yet another wrestler who died *way* too young, let's celebrate him for what he was best at...cracking Masato Tanaka's skull and dropping people on their head. This stuff is totally random, as it's pretty much just every match of his I can find on the video sites. But it's Awesome being Awesome and, on this night, that'll have to do. RIP.
"Gladiator" Mike Awesome v. Masato Tanaka (FMW - 2.18.97)
Part One
Part Two
Mike Awesome v. Masato Tanaka (ECW: Heatwave 1998)
This is still *the* Tanaka/Awesome match for me. Probably the first time most of us saw this matchup and hot damn, did it live up to the hype.
Mike Awesome v. Masato Tanaka (ECW: November to Remember 1999)
Great match, containing everything you love (or hate, as the case may be) about the Awesome/Tanaka series.
Mike Awesome v. Masato Tanaka (ECW on TNN - 12.31.99, I think)
A lot of people might consider this the best of their ECW matches. Honestly, they all sort of run together for me at this point.
Mike Awesome v. Masato Tanaka (ECW: One Night Stand - 6.12.05)
Realistically, this match is still probably the highlight of ECW 2.0 and one of the few matches that captures the spirit of the original.
Mike Awesome v. Jeff Hardy
Man...remember how brutal WWE's booking of Awesome was? They totally FUBAR'ed that one.
Mike Awesome & Vader v. Dan Maff & Samoa Joe (JAPW: When Worlds Collide - 6.5.04)
Hey, not only do you get Awesome here, but friggin' Vader versus Joe as well. Quality.
Mike Awesome v. Insane Clown Posse (WCW: Nitro - 9.25.00)
This has the "Shaggy sliding off of the bus" spot that I completely mark out for every single time I see it. I promise...you will too.
Mike Awesome v. Samoa Joe (MLW 9.19.03)
Kind of a lackluster brawl, but it's still interesting just to see Joe before the world was on his jock.
Mike Awesome v. New Jack (ECW on TNN - 10.22.99)
I don't remember this one at all. Sounds like a setup to have Jack slaughtered, though.
Mike Awesome & Justin Credible v. Masato Tanaka & Jerry Lynn
Not sure which of their matches this is, as they had a few in the summer of '98.
Mike Awesome & Raven v. Impact Players v. Tommy Dreamer & Masato Tanaka (ECW: Living Dangerously 2000)
I've not seen this, but the lineup sure does look fun. I have no memory of Awesome teaming with Raven, though. That's kinda oddball and random.
