Video Vault 9: To Infinity and Beyond
Hey champ!
ECW week continues. I can't believe how split my feelings are on this whole thing. Guess we'll have a better idea of what's up a bit later. If nothing else...AL SNOW RETURNS! Okay, so I'm the only person on the planet who cares about such things.
Sandman v. Sabu - Dueling Canes (ECW: Living Dangerously - 3.1.98)
Fun stuff with RVD in this one. Essentially, all of the Sandman/Sabu matches were exactly the same (and not terribly good at that), but they always delivered on the stunt show aspect of the ECW product, if nothing else. (10:32)
Public Enemy v. The Gangstas - Cage match (ECW Heatwave '95 - 7.15.95)
What's there to describe? Public Enemy, one of the best garbage teams ever versus a team featuring NEW JACK, in a cage filled with weapons. Pretty much speaks for itself. (17:32)
Sabu v. Mankind (Terry Funk's Wrestlefest - 9.11.97)
I honestly don't remember this match. I have the show, which was tacked on to the end of some other tape that I wanted. Don't know if I ever even watched any of it other than the Funk/Bret Hart match. Anyway, it's Sabu v. Foley. I'll wager that it's worth watching. (9:59)
Tajiri v. Psicosis (ECW - 8.20.00)
This is quite possibly the best match in ECW history. Better than any of the Tajiri/Crazy matches. As good as, if not better than the Malenko/Guerrero matches. Just an awesome, awesome match. (15:55)
BONUS: It's not a match or anything, but I figured that, with ONS 2 coming up, I'd post Jerry Lawler's ECW debut from Wrestlepalooza '97. Crowd goes friggin' INSANE and Lawler plays his part perfectly. And that cane shot to Dreamer's nads? Let's just say that the scream is real, as Dreamer had to have fluid drained from his testicles afterwards. There's a snippet of info no one really needed to hear!
ECW vs. WCW starts real soon. So, uh...watch this stuff later. Or something.
